LARRY ELLIOTT


Larry Elliott joined Selker Leadership as a Senior Vice President, Technology Practice. Prior, Larry served the Perot Systems Organization as a Senior Partner and Chief Operating Officer of the Technology Management Practice. Prior to Perot, Larry was a Senior Partner and Director with Heidrick & Struggles. His last assignment was as Managing Partner for Global Technology. In this role, Larry served as the first Global Chief Technology Officer and also as a member of the firm’s Global Management Committee and Chairman of the Business Technology Council.

As an experienced executive recruiter, Larry has become a valued consultant to CEOs and leadership teams on meeting their technology leadership needs and dealing with their organizational development challenges. He has developed a unique approach to Intellectual Capital Management for leadership teams for global technology driven companies. Larry also leads business and technology strategy reviews for major corporations. He has worked with Dr. James Champy, a global leader in business process management, and Dr. Richard Schroth, strategic thinker, to review strategic opportunities for global corporations.

After completion of his Bachelor’s degree in 1965, Larry completed advanced technology development programs, conducted by IBM and Unisys. Larry completed a 20-year career with the Air Force. While on active duty, he completed a master’s degree and three years of post-graduate research at Georgetown University and the University of Edinborough. He flew 100 combat missions in Vietnam, taught graduate courses at Air University, served as a special advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force, Commanded the Intelligence Wing in Berlin, Germany, and became the Deputy Chief of Staff, Intelligence, for the Pacific Air Forces. He was one of the youngest Colonels in the Air Force, having received early promotions to Major, Lt. Colonel, and Colonel before his retirement in 1985. Larry is a distinguished graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and the National War College.

After his military career, Larry became President and Chief Operating Officer of Management Logistics International. In 1986, due to his background in computer security and cryptology, Larry was invited to serve on President Reagan’s “Star Wars” Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) Advisory Board on computer security. Larry held a number of leadership positions, President, CEO, and Partner, in the corporate world: Analytics Incorporated (acquired by EDS); Perot Systems; Pacific Systems and Insource Management Group.

In addition to his work, Larry serves on the Board of Advisors at Johns Hopkins University, Wilmer Institute. He assists in fund-raising programs for the retinal research programs, and serves as a guest motivational speaker at support groups for Wilmer patients.

Larry is a published author through the Random House Crown Business Books division and a frequent guest speaker at corporate executive sessions. His book, with co-author Richard Schroth, How Companies Lie, was published by Random House in 2002. In October 2003, Aspatore Press released a new book by Elliott and Schroth, titled The Board of the 21st Century.
