GREGORY L. SELKER Greg Selker is the President & CEO of Selker Leadership. Involved in executive search since 1990, his primary focus early in his career was working with venture capital-backed companies. In mid 90’s, he shifted his focus to working predominantly with global corporations at the board and executive management level. He formed Selker Leadership in the summer of 2002 based on the vision of creating a professional services firm dedicated to assisting companies in distinguishing, building and developing their leadership capabilities. This intention led to the invention of Selker Leadership’s patent-pending Performance Values Assessment™ (PVA™) methodology which forms the core of all of the company’s services. Originally, the PVA methodology was developed to quantifiably distinguish a candidate’s level of leadership behavior as part of the executive search process and reliably match individuals with client organizations who would significantly contribute to creating a culture of leadership while delivering results and positively impacting overall performance. Within the first year of using the PVA methodology as the basis for their executive search practice, interviewed candidates were asking about the PVA methodology for their teams. Greg discovered that it had tremendous applicability for use as an executive leadership assessment and development tool, and as an overall system for hiring and performance assessment. Given that the PVA methodology produced a superior match in the executive search process, Greg took the unprecedented step of lengthening the performance guarantee of all of Selker Leadership’s placed candidates to two years, one year longer than any other search firm. In over 4 years of conducting executive searches, Selker Leadership’s placed candidates are all still with their companies and are considered to be in the group of “top performing” executives. In addition to Selker Leadership, Greg has maintained a high level of involvement in his community. Recently, he was the President of the Board of The Pardes School, Cleveland’s first egalitarian Jewish High School, and he is currently the Treasurer of Kol HaLev, Cleveland’s Reconstructionist synagogue. His passion is learning about, distinguishing and helping to cause leadership cultures. He is actively at work on a book detailing his experiences since forming Selker Leadership, the development of the PVA methodology, and its effectiveness in helping to build and sustain cultures of leadership within organizations. |
